ROOTED AND REACHING: Honoring Heritage, Inspiring Futures

Call for Proposals due January 31, 2026

You are invited to the Texas National Association for Multicultural Education (TXNAME) Conference at Prairie View A&M University, taking place March 6–7, 2026. This year’s conference explores the role of heritage, language, and storytelling in shaping educational experiences that affirm students’ identities and inspire meaningful engagement. Participants will leave with practical strategies for integrating cultural traditions into teaching and daily practice while preparing students for a rapidly changing world.

 

📍 Location: Prairie View A&M University

📅 Dates: March 6–7, 2026

🎤 Conference Strands Include:

  • The power of storytelling in multicultural education

  • Critical thinking as a tool for social justice

  • Culturally responsive teaching as a “basic” skill

  • Community-based learning & collective knowledge

  • Education as resistance Literacy as liberation
